MusicLink Foundation Celebrates 30th Anniversary

August 16, 2022

The MusicLink Foundation is celebrating its 30th year of bringing ongoing music lessons to students in need. MusicLink pairs low-income students with professional music teachers who volunteer to teach at a reduced rate for as long as these students continue to be motivated to learn. The Foundation is proud to have received the 2017 MTNA Achievement Award for making a significant and lasting contribution to music and music making.

Our Goal: Add at least 200 students to our roster in 2022 to reach a total of 8,000 students who have grown though MusicLink. We are asking our music educator colleagues to recognize eager, potential students in their classroom and spread the word to parents who seek music lessons beyond school offerings. Parents can nominate their children on our website and provide information about required financial eligibility (free/reduced lunch status).

Why MusicLink?

MusicLink partners with most major publishers that provide discounts or free music and materials to MusicLink students. Students can apply for music camp scholarships and receive instruments from many donors that provide instruments for student use for as long as they take lessons. Many MusicLink teachers are members of professional music teacher organizations and receive a background check before lessons begin. We currently have over 1,000 teachers on our volunteer list eager to assist prospective students (online or in person).
