All exams remain the property of the Minnesota Music Teachers Association and may not be reproduced for any other purpose than for administering an exam that a student has been registered for. Exams may not be shared via email or other method beyond what is described in directions shared by the site administrator.
IMPORTANT: Do not download or view these exams until you have read all emails from the site administrator concerning how to take this exam. Thank you and good luck with your exam!
Step 1: Instructions

Step 2: Exam Materials
Download the materials and print them out. Have the Keyboard portion of the exam ready for use prior to the scheduled Google meet or FaceTime meeting time with the judge. (The Keyboard portion should not be practiced ahead of time.) Make sure the student reads and signs the Honor Code pledge prior to beginning any portion of the exam.
Step 3: Aural Exam
Use the file below to play the examples in order to complete the Aural portion of the exam.
Step 4: Review
Review the Written and Aural portions of the exam once they have been completed. Make sure the student’s name is clearly written on both parts of the exam, the Teacher Code is written on both, and all questions have been answered.
Note: Please leave the “Grader Signature” blank empty.
Step 5: Submit the Exam
Submit the completed exam one of two ways:
- Scan or take clear photos of the exam, then upload all parts in the form below.
- Mail the Written and Aural portions to the MMTA Office:
