MMTA Piano Contest Doorkeepers - Preliminaries 2022

Doorkeepers help with student traffic flow on contest day. One doorkeeper is assigned per judging room - they let each student know when the judge is ready for them to perform their piece. Doorkeepers receive a small monetary stipend, a free MMTA t-shirt, and a free lunch if they work all day at the contest site. Responsible students 12 years and older are encouraged to consider being a doorkeeper.

Students who are participating in the contest may serve as doorkeepers. Students may be a doorkeeper on the day they are scheduled to perform, and/or a different day. If the student is a doorkeeper on the day they perform, a substitute doorkeeper will come to take their place until they return.

Students who are not participating in the contest may also serve as doorkeepers. This gives them the opportunity to be a part of the excitement of contest day and perhaps encourage future participation.
